We see what is the aftermath of Jefferson using his powers on some police cars after something goes down at the fundraiser. I assume that one of his daughters was in danger and he used his powers to save her. We see that he had made his way to Peter Gambi to get a wound stitched up and Peter is adamant about Jefferson becoming Black Lightning again. He became Black Lightning many years ago in order to bring hope back into the people and something that evil can fear. Gambi also makes the point that evil, the 100 gang, is running rampant in the city and the world.

We get insight into the character and her long time relationship to Jefferson pierce since they were college sweethearts. She obviously knows his secret identity and it is part of the reason they ended up separating and why Jefferson retired as a hero. I think the family dynamic is going to be interesting in this show and will be one of the highlights about it.

More insight into the character  and what I find interesting is the little clip of him talking to his students telling them that they are the future and that they can make what they want of their life. Also we got confirmation that Gambi was the one to design the original Black Lightning Suit. It also appears that Gambi has a lair and was the one to design the updated suit as well. We also see that his powers are linked to his emotions so he has to try and keep his emotions in check.
