Black Lightning S1E03

  • Upgrades to the suit! and a cool superhero cave and base of operations.
  • Lady Eve - I love the portrayal. she clearly holds a place of power and tobias whale kinda answers to her and i am interested to see what she has in store for the rest of the season
  • Grace Choi - Her and Anissa are a couple in the comics and grace first appears in an outsiders comic (like the one she had). Additionally, in the comics she is a descendent of amazons and has superhuman strengths which would be interesting to see in the show.
  • The shooting i was not expecting what went down and definitely had some severe consequences for Freeland.
Things that happened:
  • We start off the episode with LaWanda's funeral and Anissa testing out her powers in a junk yard. The reverend called out the police chief for having corrupt officers.
  • Black Lightning has inspired the reverend to organize a march and he gets an upgrade to his suit so that he can hit smaller targets to deal with the large crowd.
  • Tobias Whale goes to visit Lady Eve and she tells him about the march that is going on and to take care of it. Jennifer is going to go to a hotel with her boyfriend.
  • Anissa meets someone at the library while doing genetics research and is invited to a party at a bar. Jefferson and Gambi map out a plan to where they can protect the marchers.
  • During family dinner Jennifer decides to tell her parents that she is ready to have sex with her boyfriend and tells them when. Lynn suggest that Jennifer move in with her. 
  • Jefferson has a talk with Khalil and Anissa is confronted at the party by her girlfriend. Tobias whale is indoctrinating a new right hand man after Lala and has tasked him with the march.
  • Anissa breaks up with her girlfriend and gets to know grace choi at the party and then leaves to go to the march with her younger sister. Lynn and both girls are at the march.
  • A shooter attacks the crowd and Black Lightning saves them and the crowd starts singing amazing grace. Tobais whale shows up and has his left hand woman shot Black Lightning.
  • The Bullet(s) end up hitting the reverend and Khalil. while at the hospital Lynn senses something is up with Anissa. We learn that the bullet hit Khalil's spine.
